The studio

A studio named for what good stories do.

Alter your perspective and a familiar thing becomes new. That’s the whole job of stories — and the reason this studio has the name it does.

Our story

Father, son, and one whole pipeline.

Altered Perspective is a family, friends, and fools studio built on a clean division of labor: one of us makes the technology that draws the world, the other makes the world worth drawing. Richard has spent a career close to the machine — the systems, the performance, the hard parts of making pixels behave. Owen came up on the analog side, drawing the things those systems would one day render.

Put them together and you get a studio that owns its whole pipeline — from the story to the sketch to the shader to the render — and a conviction that the newest tools belong in service of the oldest craft. We work across two cities, Blacksburg and Savannah, and treat that distance as a feature: each discipline stays honest and independent, and the work is better for the daily conversation between them.

What we believe

A few things we hold to.

The hand stays the author

Craft is the source. Our tools amplify the maker; they never make the maker optional.

Own the whole stack

Engine, tools, and art under one roof — so no compromise gets blamed on someone else’s pipeline.

Local & owned

Our models run on our machines. Our art stays ours; it never becomes someone else’s training data.

Make it, then show it

We’d rather reveal something finished than trade in hype. Look twice is the bar.
